Behind the Buildout: Workbar Union Square, Vol. 3
If you caught our last Behind the Buildout update, you know that the excitement around Workbar Union Square opening in January 2027 has been building for months, with current and former members alike reminiscing about where it all began. The good news? Your enthusiasm hasn’t slowed one bit. Let’s take another stroll through the space and recap what’s new with the neighborhood’s soon-to-be coworking staple.
How You Brewin’? ☕️
ICYMI: We teamed up again with Somerville staple Union Square Donuts for another round! They’re helping us celebrate our full-circle return to the neighborhood, and we’re just wondering… why can’t all brand partnerships involve free coffee and donuts going forward? Seems like a reasonable request, right?
Mark your calendars for our next freebie day on Saturday, November 14th at their Union Square (20 Bow Street) location. Come grab a donut and sip on a free coffee courtesy of Workbar. (Maybe try their Pumpkin Patch Cold Brew before winter hits and it’s all peppermint, all the time)
We’ll be adding a donut and cold brew to our morning routines the moment we officially open, and we hope to see you there!
MBTA Sighting 👀
Founder, content creator, and big fan of Workbar Harvard Square, Madi Beumee is currently the face of a new Delta Air Lines ad on the T, and we can’t think of a more perfect partnership for a Boston-based solo traveler. We love spotting a familiar face on an otherwise boring train ride.
Pssst. Keep an eye out for our upcoming debut on the Green Line coming soon to a commute near you.

On October 13, USQ co-hosted Future of Boston’s Innovation Economy right in our new backyard at Greentown Labs. Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, Somerville Mayor Jake Wilson, and Cambridge City Manager Yi-An Huang teamed up with industry trailblazers to talk about strengthening the region’s climate innovation economy using biotech, tech, climatetech, and AI.
"It was energizing to be in a room full of people who are passionate about keeping Greater Boston at the forefront of innovation, particularly in climate tech. And I have to say, I’m especially excited about what’s happening in Union Square. The energy, the investment, the talent, and the collaboration happening in this neighborhood are pretty incredible." - Bobby Murphy, Director of Sales at Workbar
